Webinar Highlights: Sharing the TREASURE Study Findings

We were delighted to recently host a webinar to share the findings from the TREASURE Study, which explored the feasibility of patients self-swabbing their surgical wounds at home using a co-designed self-swabbing kit.

The webinar brought together study participants, patient representatives, healthcare professionals, researchers, and members of the public to hear about the findings and discuss the implications for future wound monitoring and surgical site infection surveillance.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the TREASURE Study. Your time, experiences, and contribution have been invaluable in helping us understand whether self-swabbing at home is a practical and acceptable approach for patients recovering after surgery.

As part of our commitment to sharing the findings with those who made the study possible, we will be sending a short summary of the results directly to participants. We also plan to publish our findings in freely available journals, and links to these publications will be added to this page when available.

What We Shared

During the webinar, members of the research team presented the study background, key findings, and lessons learned. We also discussed the potential role of patient-led wound monitoring in supporting postoperative care and future research.

The session provided an opportunity not only to share the results but also to hear directly from attendees about their experiences and perspectives.
